Over the last couple of years I had been investigating a possibility of reversing my eyesight damage. I found that a diet plays a major role in maintaining our perfect 20-20 vision, however a little less is known about reversing the damage already done. Since in the past I was able to heal my off the charts allergies just with food I started searching for possibilities to do the same to my eyes.
I developed a special diet that is based on known nutrients and food that support eye health. I had been following this diet very strictly for about 6 months and my eyesight has improved from -1.75 to -0.75. It is quite a remarkable improvement considering I am not even 40 yet. I want to share this diet and hope that at least some of you will have similar results.
There are few basic rules:
1. Eat your greens
(kale, spinach, beet greens, dandelion, lettuce, radicchio, cabbage, bok choy, ...)
- 1 cup counts as a serving
- eat variety of greens and rotate your greens, do not eat the same one or two greens all the time
- eat both raw and cooked greens. If you are not used to eating a lot of raw greens, eat more cooked greens to start with as they are easier to digest and walk your way to eating more raw
- each day aim for optimal 3 servings, at minimum eat 1 serving
2. Go nuts and seeds
(hemp, sunflower, flax, sesame, pumpkin, chia, poppy, cashews, walnuts, macadamia, almonds, ...)
- 1 tbsp counts as a serving
- eat variety of nuts and seeds (avoid items you are allergic to) and rotate them
- each day aim for optimal 4 servings, at minimum eat 1 serving
3. Plenty of Fruits and veggies
- 0.5 cup count as a serving
- eat variety, different colour fruits and veggies
- each day aim for optimal 8 servings of veggies and 2 fruits, at minimum 1 serving of fruits and 5 veggies
4. Become friends with beans and legumes
- 0.5 cup counts as a serving
- aim for optimal 1 serving every second day. If you are not used to beans and legumes start with one serving a week
5. Other than that you can eat anything you want - but eat the recommended items first!
